Shrek the Woolly Wonder

Meet Shrek, a proud member of the Merino sheep breed hailing from the picturesque South Island of New Zealand. While Merinos are typically renowned for their luscious coats, requiring annual shearing, Shrek had a different plan altogether. In a remarkable feat, this wooly rebel managed to elude the clippers for an astounding six years.
When he was finally discovered in 2004, his wooly spectacle catapulted him into internet stardom. Embracing his newfound celebrity status, this extraordinary sheep inspired children’s books and rallied support for numerous charitable causes. Sadly, in 2011, the world bid farewell to Shrek as he peacefully passed away at the age of 16.
