Die-hard fans of the ‘Fast and the Furious’ franchise found a special but heartbreaking meaning behind the date Nov. 30, 2013. On that day, one of the stars of the action film, Paul Walker, met an accident and passed away.
What made the death more gut-wrenching is the fact that the actor came from a charity event and was heading home when his car struck a pole and was engulfed in flames. He was, no doubt, a kind soul, evidenced by the throngs of people who mourned his demise. But apart from his occasional attendance to support a cause, Paul also touched people’s lives without anyone knowing.
A Couple’s Tale
In 2004, Kyle Upham and her fiancé entered a jewelry store to look for the right engagement ring. The man was about to head to Iraq to serve so he wanted to get the perfect accessory for his girl before he was sent to the Asian country.
As they were looking, another shopper got interested in them and was convincing the pair to go for the bigger options. Kyle’s then-fiance, Kristen, noticed that there was another customer in the shop and realized that this man was suggesting to get a bigger ring.

Concerned about the price, Kristen kept arguing that they should just look for something that was well within their reasonable budget. Deep into the conversation with the mystery man, the couple revealed that Kyle would soon be deployed.
After much discussion on which one to get, the couple decided that they couldn’t get a $9,000 engagement ring, so they left the store empty-handed. They didn’t get far from the store’s location when the salesperson assisting them called them back.

The pair were given a bag that had a pricey ring. They always felt that it was the man, whom Kyle realized was Paul, who had paid for the lavish purchase.
They couldn’t confirm if it was really Paul until his death when the salesperson gave an interview about the man’s good deed.
Not Much But Still a Kind Gesture
$9,000 is so much for the average Jane or Joe but for Paul, who died with an estimated net worth of $25 million, it may be nothing. It barely scratched his wallet, that’s for sure, but the kind gesture was enough to prove how he really was a nice person.

Paul didn’t know these people and just randomly met them at a jewelry store and yet, he chose to make their engagement special.
