While the fate of a spinoff of the iconic ‘90s sitcom Friends is still unknown, what’s sure is that some actors want to reprise their roles. Tom Selleck, for instance, played the ophthalmologist Richard Burke on the show, only appearing in some seasons, but is willing to act with the original cast members again.
Indeed, the show has long ended, but the clamor for its return with the original cast has never been louder. However, it is still uncertain if the main cast members, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, is game for round 2.

Warner Bros. Television | ‘Friends’ was a warmly received sitcom
Tom may not be one of the main characters of the show, but his role provided some good old drama. In season 2, we saw how Richard immediately clicked with Monica, but they soon realized that they have different goals—she wants to have children while the doctor already has two kids and doesn’t plan to expand his family.
While things didn’t work out for them, they met again in the third season. Monica reignites her feelings for him, but Richard brought the children issue once again, which led them to say goodbye anew but not before sharing an intimate moment for the last time.

Diehard fans would know that she eventually ended up with Chandler, but Richard tries to meddle. The One with The Proposal, Part 2 was the last time we saw Richard as he tried convincing Monica that he now wanted to get married and have kids with her.
However, it was too late for him, and Richard finally understands that Chandler genuinely wants to have those things with Monica.
Tom nailed his performances on the show, and who could tell that he felt a little bit scared at the time? When he joined the sitcom, he was already starring in the series, Magnum P.I., so you’ll probably think that being in the sitcom was a walk in the park for him.
However, he pointed out that this was his first three-camera live show in a long time. But the jitters were also understandable because he believes it’s the price for an opportunity.

The good news is that he is so ready to reprise his role in Friends that he said he would do it in a heartbeat, even without seeing the script.
As for his character’s arc, Tom already got that covered: Richard would come between Monica and Chandler anew.
