45 Of The Most Bizarre Pictures You’ll Find On The Internet Today

Giant Australian Moth

The image you see here is a moth found in Asia and Australia. It can flex its abdomen to release these scary tentacles. This photo first swarmed the Internet when an Indonesian user named Gandik uploaded a video of it and got millions of views and thousands of shares.

Even though it’s spooky, you’d be amazed to know that the tentacles are only used to release pheromones in a bid to mate. This species is called Creatonotos Gangis, first described in 1763 by Carl Linnaeus. With a wingspan of around four centimeters, you’d want to keep a lookout for these on your next visit to Australia.
