John Witherspoon, Died At Age 77, 1942–2019
Almost every time you saw John Witherspoon, he’d have a big smile on his face. That’s because he was a comedian and actor who could have an audience roll with laughter effortlessly. His most memorable roles were Willie Jones, John “Pops” Williams, and Lloyd Hamilton in “Friday,” “The Wayans Bros.,” and “Black Jesus,” respectively.
Witherspoon was a one-woman kind of man, having been married to Angela Robinson since 1988. He appeared healthy despite his age, which is why many were shocked to hear of his passing on October 29, 2019. It was a sudden heart attack that took his life.
