Doris Day, Died At Age 97, 1922-2019
Doris Day, an actress and singer, lived much longer than the average American woman. She witnessed, participated in, and endured a wide range of events, both positive and negative. Looking at the pluses, her career successes, such as recording 600 songs and securing 45 acting credits, are sure examples.
On the flip side, all of Day’s marriages ended—three with divorce and one with her husband’s death. Terry Melcher, her only kid, died of melanoma, which was undoubtedly her worst dread come true. Day, however, lived a long life and was only a couple of years shy of making it to a century when she died of pneumonia in 2019.
