Babadook Needs Some Wine

The character here is based on a 2014 Australian psychological horror film written and directed by the up-and-coming director Jennifer Kent. The Babadook, a symbol of fear, is a metaphor for grief, as the main character has recently lost her husband. It evokes C.S. Lewis’ insight, after his wife passed away, that he never knew grief felt so much like fear.

Of course, if you are dressed as The Babadook, and all of your friends show up in their everyday clothes to just drink wine, then you’re straight up the symbol of funny.
