Ice-T – Private First-Class: 1977
For actor and musician Ice-T, joining the Army was a way to provide for his girlfriend and daughter. His early life was rife with tragedy, and after the death of his parents, he moved from one relative to another until finally settling with his aunt. Still, it’s not all bad.
Ice-T served in the 25th Infantry officer Division of the Army. And the decision allowed him to hone his skills and maintain his finances. His most notable character is Detective Odafin Tutuola in “Law & Order: SVU.” During the 2021 Grammy Awards, Ice-T’s heavy metal band, Body Count, won the award for Best Metal Performance for their 2020 single, “Bum-Rush.”
