Behold the Most Ruthless and Astonishing Vehicles in the American Military

Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) – Cost: $22 Million

In the ’70s, Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAVs) were the go-to vehicles for the US Marine Corps. However, by the ’00s, it was determined that an upgrade was needed, leading to the development of the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV). The EFV was designed to be able to travel from a Navy ship straight to shore and was expected to be able to transport 17 combat-ready Marines for inland battles.

Unfortunately, the EFV was met with mounting costs and poor reliability, leading to its manufacturing being halted in 2011. The projected cost for each vehicle was a staggering $22 million, making it difficult for the Marines to justify the purchase.
