Behold the Most Ruthless and Astonishing Vehicles in the American Military
Seawolf-Class Submarine – Cost: $3.2 Billion
The Seawolf-class submarine was developed by the United States Navy at the end of the Cold War as an upgraded version of the Los Angeles-class submarines. It was designed to be faster, achieving speeds of 35 knots, and sturdy enough to endure icy environments.
Unfortunately, its high cost meant that the United States Navy could not continue with the original plan of launching 29 vessels. Instead, the more cost-effective Virginia-class submarines were chosen. Despite this, the three Seawolf-class submarines that were launched are expected to remain in service for a long time, as they have been designed to accommodate updates and upgrades.
