Vanessa Hudgens revealed during an August 2018 interview with Collider how much owning her dog Darla has impacted her life. The actress shared that she feels like her pet sees the best in her, which encourages her to see the best in herself too. She also disclosed that she and her then-partner Austin Butler didn’t plan on getting Darla at all.
Darla took a long time to warm up to her, according to Hudgens. Apparently, she got the puppy from the apartment neighbors of her ex-boyfriend’s mother. They welcomed Darla into their home after that neighbor died, and she’s been her little angel ever since.
