Mahershala Ali – Basketball
Many people are familiar with Mahershala Ali as an Oscar-winning actor, and some may even recognize him as a former rapper. Still, only a few know about his stint as a basketball player at St. Mary’s College of California. Ali received a basketball scholarship and went on to play for four years as a guard.
Ali’s participation in the sport stopped after his graduation in 1996 when he discovered his love for theater and opted to pursue a graduate acting school at New York University. The “Hunger Games” trilogy, “True Detective,” and the 2021 sci-fi drama “Swan Song” are among his notable film credits.
