Denzel Washington is an Oscar-nominated actor, producer, and director renowned for his appearances in “Malcolm X,” “Glory,” and “The Hurricane.” In 2021, he starred as Lord Macbeth in “Macbeth: The Tragedy.”
Washington was a seasoned basketball player even before he was featured as the father of top prospects in Spike Lee’s 1998 film “He Got Game.” He was a member of the Mainland High School junior varsity football team and grew up playing pickup basketball. He also played guard for the basketball team at Fordham University in Washington, where he studied drama and journalism.
