The Babylonians May Have Seen the Future

Suppose you should know one thing about the Babylonians; it should be that they were one of the most advanced races in the history of the world. They are credited with pioneering such discoveries as the wheel, the chariot, the sailboat, and the first-known map. But they also created The Code of Hammurabi, one of the earliest written and most elaborate legal codes.

The legal text was produced between 1755 and 1750 BCE, nearly 200 years before the New Testament. But it is shockingly ahead of its time in addressing issues such as divorce, property rights, and minimum wage. The code is preserved in the Louvre Museum in Paris.
