Here’s Why Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and 42 Other Celebrities Were Banned From These Countries
Bob Dylan – China
Bob Dylan rose to stardom in the ’60s as a symbol of the anti-war movement during the Vietnam War era. He became the face of a dissatisfied generation, and songs like “Like a Rolling Stone” and “The Times They Are a-Changin'” came to represent the counterculture of the ’60s.
He was likely denied entry to China in 2010 for this reason. Dylan, after all, is an artist with enough influence to undermine the country’s strict stance on freedom and human rights. Although his Chinese fans were left devastated in 2010, they were fortunate only one year later as he was permitted to make a national tour in 2011.
