Here’s Why Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and 42 Other Celebrities Were Banned From These Countries
Brad Pitt – China
We doubt when starring in the 1997 film “Seven Years in Tibet,” where he didn’t exactly break any laws, Brad Pitt realized he’d be banned in China. The movie depicted the conflict-torn region of Tibet between 1944 and 1951 and how Chinese soldiers interfered with World War II.
Pitt played the part of the 14th Dalai Lama’s tutor, upsetting the ruling communist party since it depicted the Chinese colonization of the Tibetan Plateau. That resulted in a ban not just for Pitt but some of his co-stars as well. It is exceptionally uncommon for a government to outright prohibit an actor due to their portrayal of a fictional character.
