Journalism Fails: Some Instances Where TV Anchors Made the Headlines for More Than Their Work

Literally Hitting the Ground Running

In 2013, KRQE correspondent Jessica Garate was in the news following this incident. She had been reporting on New Mexico’s stance on gay marriages when a woman stumbled over and fell some feet away from Garate. But being the professional she was, she didn’t break character and continued with the report.

The woman was a volunteer at KRQE’s call center. Luckily, the fall wasn’t too bad, and she gathered herself almost immediately. However, it didn’t take long before the incident went viral on YouTube. Garnet later tweeted that it was challenging remaining straight-faced during the ordeal. There’s almost no predicting what happens on live TV.
