Money Lessons You Can Learn From the Amish Lifestyle That’ll Turn Your Finances Around
Rumspringa: Wild, Youthful Period
Have you ever heard of the Rumspringa? In Pennsylvania German, Rumspringa literally means “running around.” Basically, this is a time when parents permit their kids (usually aged 14 to 18) to leave the Amish community and experience outer society. Children get a chance to experience non-traditional Amish life at this time.
For instance, they might go to a nearby town, dress casually, use cell phones and vehicles, and even drink or socialize with non-Amish people. The children are allowed to decide whether or not they wish to continue living an Amish lifestyle, and the community does this out of a sense of justice.
