Born in 1971, Emily Mortimer is an English-American screenwriter turned actress. She started her career with theater while studying at the University of Oxford then made her TV debut in 1995 with “The Glass Virgin,” Playing numerous TV roles, her first film was “The Ghost and The Darkness” in 1996. She was also seen in “Elizabeth”, “Cider with Rosie,” “Scream 3” and “Shutter Island.”
The critically acclaimed and award-winning actress got married to actor Alessandro Nivola in 2003 and has two children with him. She became an American citizen in 2010, and her latest performance was seen in the 2020 film “Relic.”
