Priceless Photoshopped Images That Are Almost Illegal To Be On The Internet!
Even The Victorian-era Folks Did It
This portrait of Isabella Romola de’ Medici, daughter of the first Grand Duke of Tuscany, revealed something surprising after its restoration. Dating back to the 1500s, Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Museum conservators realized that someone had taken some creative liberties with the original painting centuries ago.
They thought that the Bronzino painting wasn’t the real deal. X-ray analysis revealed that somewhere along the 19th century, someone had given the 16th-century work of art a facelift. The changes had been done to make the otherwise “less attractive” portrait more marketable. While art collector Collis Potter Huntington once owned the painting, the artist behind it remains unknown.
