Most people assume high-fiber bars are healthier than chocolate chip cookies or crackers. But the reality is that besides being difficult to chew, these bars do not offer much apart from providing a lot of energy. They are, as nutritionist Ashvini says, “candy bars in disguise.”
Instead, choose natural and nutritious snacks. These high-fiber bars do not provide reasonable amounts of nutrients, proteins, or healthy fats, so we do not recommend them as regular treats. And if they offer you one as a snack on the plane, ask for another option.
