If you’ve ever played the incredible “Thimbleweed Park” adventure game, you may be familiar with some scenes looking exactly as seen in this picture. The house was an independent, unifying factor for workers during the Soviet era. Formerly an elite Lviv casino, the place was designed by Fellner and Helmer in 1898.
Even carpenters of repute marvel at the level of detail and complexity it took to achieve the design of this house. Even more impressive is that much of that work was done without modern tools but with powered sawmills.
