Togo amazed Seppala by clocking in 75 miles on his first run in a dog sled team. Not only that, as they covered more distances on that return trip, Seppala found he had to keep moving him up the line until he was running alongside the sled’s lead dog, Russky.
It was a triumphant moment for both the dog and his master, who had never seen any young inexperienced breed pull off such a feat, much less a puppy. He immediately declared Togo a once-in-a-lifetime genius. As far as he was concerned, he had found the sled dog champion he had always searched for.
