Suppose Pop Culture commentator Brian M. Palmer describes Alia Shawkat as one of the brightest lights on a show populated solely by bright lights. In that case, it’s a massive pointer at her incredible talent. But Brian is not the only one who’s been talking about Shawkat’s performance in “Arrested Development.” It’s safe to say her ‘Maeby Fünke’ character is a fan favorite.
Shawkat revealed an attraction to men and women in a candid interview with “Out magazine.” This revelation goes well with the theme of her 2018 film, “Duck Butter,” which has been described by “Vulture” as a queer utopia. The same can be said of her being cast in the 2021 docuseries “Pride.”
