Coming out as gay in a 2014 “Bloomberg” editorial may not be the most conventional way to go, but who makes the rules? For Apple CEO Tim Cook, his decision to speak up about his personal orientation was inspired by a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. quote that questions what a person seeks to do for others.
Although most of his co-workers knew he was attracted to men, he says he felt a tremendous responsibility to come out openly as gay. And though we’ve made great strides, Cook asserted that there’s still work to be done to ensure quality for all LGBTQ+ people.
