These Rare Photos Reveal the Secrets of Titanic’s Tragic Voyage

The Third-Class Lodgings

The third-class deck of the RMS Titanic is a significant but often overlooked aspect of the ship’s history. Despite accommodating around 700 to 1,000 individuals, the passengers had limited access to amenities compared to the first-class deck. Third-class passengers had access to a smoking parlor, general room, and dining hall, but their conditions were still challenging.

They had only two bathtubs to share, and their location at the bottom of the ship made it difficult to access safety measures during the tragic sinking. Tragically, many of the 1,500 victims were from the third class, underlining the importance of equal safety standards and access to resources for all passengers onboard.
