It’s tough to forget a name like Bastian Balthazar Bux. Fans of ”The NeverEnding Story” know the book’s young protagonist goes by that moniker. We’re thrilled that Barret Oliver, who so effectively portrayed the endearing child, has had an equally remarkable career despite no longer working in front of the camera.
But while he was still a young talent in Hollywood, Oliver also starred in the fiction films “Cocoon: The Return” and “D.A.R.Y.L.” before walking away from showbiz. Now a celebrated American photographer, he’s taught the discipline to many others and published “A History of the Woodburytype,” a book about the 19th-century visual world.
