Jill Biden
Jill Tracy Biden (née Jacobs; Hammonton, New Jersey; June 3, 1951) is an American educator and English professor at a community college in Virginia. She has been the First Lady of the United States since January 20, 2021.
Married to Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, she also served as Second Lady from January 20, 2009, to January 20, 2017, while her husband was Vice President under President Barack Obama. Unlike previous Second Ladies, she did not resign from her teaching job and balanced her duties as Second Lady with her academic responsibilities. She became the first Second Lady to have a paid job while her spouse was Vice President. Jill Biden continued her university teaching career after her husband became President, making her the first First Lady in U.S. history to hold a paid job outside the White House.
