When People Learned the Hard Way: “Anything That Can Go Wrong Will Go Wrong”

Just A Little Too Late

Imagine discovering you were accepted into a PhD program—four years too late! That happened to a Reddit user who missed their chemistry PhD acceptance email, which is sad because earning a spot in such a program is impressive.

This is especially true if you consider the University of Illinois Chicago’s requirements: a bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry, a GPA of at least 3.00 in math and science courses, and a minimum of 2.75 in the final 60 semester hours. This ironic twist shows the importance of keeping up with emails. It’s a tough break, but at least now they know they had what it took all along!
