A Different Take on Starbucks

A kid, wanting to play a prank on his Dad, asked him, “Want me to tell you a pun, Dad?” His Dad replied, “Sure! What is it?” And the kid said, “A pun is a joke that exploits the different possible meanings of a word.” In this case, the word is “Starbucks,” a famous coffee joint brand that could mean a kind of antelope from the stars.
Another example is, “Time flies like an arrow. Fruit flies like a banana.” The pun-style humor in popular culture has given rise to something called “Dad jokes,” like “I’m afraid for the calendar. Its days are numbered.”
