The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) is a multi-purpose military vehicle created by the Oshkosh Corporation for the United States Army. It comes in several different variants, capable of serving as a heavy guns carrier, a utility vehicle, and a close combat weapons carrier. It was designed to meet the Army’s tactical transportation needs on the battlefield.
As of late 2020, nearly 9,500 JLTVs were produced, with the first being delivered by Oshkosh in 2016. Since then, the corporation has received an order for over 2,738 more units. The JLTV is designed to be versatile, durable, and better protected than the Humvee, making them ideal for combat operations.
