Melissa McCarthy, The Starling – 75 Pounds
Melissa McCarthy rose to fame thanks to her role in the sitcom Mike and Molly. She suited the role perfectly since it required an overweight female lead who meets an overweight male lead at an overeaters anonymous meeting. The role meant it was okay for her to be overweight, but that changed as her career progressed.
After being typecast one too many times, McCarthy decided to lose some weight. She did it by following a low-carb diet and starting to do martial arts. She lost 75 pounds thanks to this method and has been looking good in recent films like Thunder Force and the 2021 project The Starling.
