At 63, pop star Matthias Reim can not only look back on a long, successful music career, but also on a full bank account. He composes and writes his own lyrics, and in 1990 he had his big breakthrough with “Verdammt ich lieb dich”. The song stayed at number 1 in the German hit parade for a whopping 16 weeks, and the single sold 2.5 million copies! As a result, the musician’s fortune grew rapidly. Nevertheless, Reim later slipped into bankruptcy and divorced several times. “I was never greedy for money,” Reim once said in an interview. That’s good, but 5.4 million on the high edge is still something to be proud of!
