Watch Out, Incoming!
Since 1974, ABC has hosted the “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” to usher in the New Year. The event holds with much fanfare in the famous Times Square. And since 2012, ABC passed hosting duties to Ryan Seacrest. So, no one was surprised to see him in Times Square on New Year’s eve.
We can keep guessing about what distracted him from spotting a balloon headed his way. But he was likely engrossed in Fergie reeling out several artists billed to perform at ABC’s Hollywood studio. Of course, he shrugged it off and continued with his hosting duties. This time, he must have been more alert for any flying object.
