Julia Somerville – Age 74
One of the longer-serving journalists in the UK, Julia Somerville, is now a staple in the industry boasting a career that has gone on for about half a century. Beginning early in the ’70s, this iconic newsreader and reporter started as a sub-editor in the BBC radio newsroom before starting her reporting career in 1978.
Since then, she has also worked with ITV and is now well known for hosting the “Rip Off Britain Live” series, a role she still holds in 2022. Somerville still enjoys her journalism career and continues to present on TV today. It’s safe to say she has more than achieved celebrity status.
