Do Your State-Fair Traditions

State fairs are a quintessential part of American culture, and they offer a wide range of weird and wonderful activities. Many country girls love to dress up for these events, and some of the traditions are truly unique. For example, at the Iowa State Fair, it’s customary to build a 600-pound sculpture of a bovine out of butter!
The Alaska State Fair holds a competition for the largest cabbages, and in the past, some of them have weighed up to 117 pounds! Lastly, the Virginia State Fair has a special attraction known as ‘Chainsaw Ben,’ where a local man named Ben Risney makes wood sculptures with a chainsaw.
