A Helping Hand

Jonathan watched as just a few cars passed, giving a thumbs up to signal he needed a ride. A middle-aged woman finally stopped, rolling down her window. Without hesitation, Jonathan approached, quickly explaining his situation—his stolen car and the urgent need to get to the city.

Although he wasn’t sure she would believe him, she surprised him by readily agreeing to help. She was heading into town anyway and saw no issue with giving him a lift. Relieved, Jonathan settled into the passenger seat, grateful for her kindness. Moments later, an unexpected sound emerged from the back seat, capturing his attention.
