The End of the Journey
Multiple organizations provided assistance to the survivors of the Titanic disaster upon arrival at Pier 54 in New York City. The rescue ships that carried the survivors were met with crowds eager to hear their stories. Survivors from the Carpathia were quickly transported to various accommodations, some of which were provided for free, while others chose to pay for private transportation.
However, the rescue mission was not without its challenges, as harsh weather conditions and the limited capacity of the rescue ships prevented all passengers and crew members from being rescued. The efforts of those involved in the rescue mission were nonetheless critical in saving as many lives as possible.
