Glittery and colorful – this is how you’ll always see JoJo Siwa in her videos and public appearances. Many people adore her for her quirky, fun, and outgoing personality and even though she is already 17, kids and teens still look up to her.
However, the former ‘Dance Moms’ star recently debuted another look, care of James Charles, that had everyone gasping for air. JoJo looked totally unrecognizable after the makeover and fans were divided on the final product.
Two Years in the Making
James is a beauty influencer who rose to greater heights after he showcased his talent in using makeup while JoJo became famous after her stint as a dancer in a reality show. Then, the girl tried her luck as an influencer and YouTuber and luckily, she managed to attract so much attention.

A part of why JoJo is so loved by her fans is the fact that she doesn’t get easily swayed by what’s trending. Her distinct style – from her choice of clothes to her mannerisms – has always been hers and she has cultivated this reputation in recent years. So with the recent makeover, many wondered how she felt about it, especially since it’s not her brand.
Apparently, James wasn’t able to immediately convince JoJo for a collab since she doesn’t want anybody to do her makeup – but she is stricter when it comes to her hair. In fact, they were in talks for two years before it finally happened. So the video titled ‘Giving JoJo Siwa a full makeover’ is definitely out of her comfort zone.
Makeover Process
James began removing his guest’s glitter and makeup so that he can have a clean canvas to work on his magic. As he worked his way to transforming her, the two influencers talked about JoJo’s rise to fame and her stint in ‘Dance Moms.’

JoJo went on to say that she owes her stardom to the show because after that, she became a Nickelodeon superstar and had sold millions of colorful bows. After their discussion, James obviously did a fantastic job.
Unrecognizable?
JoJo is barely recognizable with her new look, especially without her signature hair. James ditched his guest’s high pony and opted for a sleek wave.
Although JoJo felt that James did an amazing job, she admitted that the final product wasn’t her style and said that ‘it’s not me.’ She pointed out that she came to the set with colorful clothes and makeup and that’s who she is.
