Bob Barker – Lieutenant Junior Grade: 1943
Bob Barker is best known as the host of the game show “The Price Is Right,” which he held from 1972 to 2007. He also hosted “Truth or Consequences” for 18 years. It’s evident that Barker is a man who does things long-term, but his service in the U.S. Navy Reserve is an exception.
He reported for duty in 1943, receiving training as a fighter pilot, before being posted at Banana River Naval Air Station in Florida. Barker spent his time training the crews, but the war ended before he could see combat. In 2021, he spoke to PEOPLE about his time presenting “The Price Is Right.”
