Don Rickles – Seaman First Class: 1944
Although Don Rickles was an actor, his comedic flair made him famous. In 1944, before the fame and glam, he had just graduated high school and enlisted for the Navy. During his service, he worked on the boat “USS Cyrene.” After an honorable discharge, he studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.
The 2007 documentary film “Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project” won him a Primetime Emmy Award. He has around 30 acting credits, including voicing Mr. Potato Head in “Toy Story.” Sadly, he died in 2017, and in December 2021, Spotify pulled out his and other comedians’ works due to disagreements on royalties.
