45 Yoga Poses To Unlock Flexibility, Strength and Wellbeing

Forward Lunge – Ashwasanchalanasana

This dynamic yoga pose is “Ashwasanchalanasana” or the Forward Lunge Pose. To achieve this pose, start in Mountain Pose (“Tadasana”), then step your right foot forward and bend the right knee at a 90-degree angle. The left leg extends straight behind with the foot firmly planted on the ground.

“Ashwasanchalanasana” is known to enhance oxygenation in the body and improve respiratory conditions. It strengthens the knees, ankles, and feet while stretching the groins, hips, and leg muscles, including the hamstrings and quadriceps. It also opens the chest and lungs, enhancing respiratory capacity. As a balance-enhancing pose, it fosters focus, helping to relieve stress.
