A Man Detained For Dressing In Women’s Clothes

The world has truly come a long way in many aspects, from technological advancements to a more accepting society. But things weren’t always that way. In the ’30s, people were arrested for simply choosing to dress in the opposite gender’s style.
Take this man, for example. According to Touch of Modern, he was detained for wearing women’s clothes in New York. Unfortunately, this experience was common for the members of the LGBT community at the time and even persisted until the Stonewall uprising in the ’60s, which paved the way for the gay rights movement in the United States.
