The People’s Princess Shakes Hand With A Hospice Patient

Princess Diana is remembered today not just because of her decade-defining wedding or personal style but also because of her kind heart. At a time when there was still stigma around HIV?AIDS, she undertook it as a cause in the late ’80s.
This advocacy led her to visit various facilities where patients suffering from the illness were staying. Here she is in October 1991, photographed in one such hospice in Toronto, Canada. Truly the people’s princess, Lady Di did not hesitate to shake hands with the patients she met there even without her gloves.
