Paul McCartney – Age 79
Sir Paul McCartney is one of those larger-than-life characters who hardly needs an introduction. One of the most successful songwriters ever, he’s best known for his work with “The Beatles” and for coming up with songs as beloved as “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” and “Blackbird.” His music-writing partnership with the late John Lennon is one of the best and most fruitful.
Even more impressive about McCartney, though, is that he never stopped putting out great tunes. He found much success following the disbandment of “The Beatles,” working with artists such as Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson and leading the rock band “Wings.”
