The Elephant Whisperer was conservationist Lawrence Anthony, who dedicated his life to the rescue and rehabilitation of traumatized African elephants.
Anthony’s death was a significant loss to the field and the animals he sought to protect. Still, it must have come as a surprise when a group of wild elephants arrived at his house in South Africa to mourn his passing. Believing a day was not enough time, these dutiful animals held a vigil around his house for two days before dispersing.
