It was cooked on the spot by the producers and delivered quite convincingly by Robert Downey Jr. (as ‘Tony Stark/Iron Man’).
When the supervillain ‘Thanos’ says, “I am inevitable,” ‘Iron Man’ was supposed to say nothing, snap his fingers, and get on with the action. Instead, he answered, “And I… Am… Iron Man.” It may sound like a clichéd movie quote, but it helped to tie the whole scene together.
