He is not only famous and adored for his music, but he has also come to be associated with modern-day hippie culture. Over the years, he has spoken about illicit substances numerous times and is also a vocal supporter of using them for recreational purposes.
He was detained when customs officers discovered he was carrying eight grams of banned substances en route to a music event. The legendary artist received a hefty fine in addition to a two-year visa suspension. He was, however, given the go-ahead to perform at the event before leaving the country.
