Here’s Why Beyoncé, Katy Perry, and 42 Other Celebrities Were Banned From These Countries
Amy Winehouse – USA
Amy Winehouse, a British soul singer, could not make it into the United States in 2007 and 2009. After checking her civilian background and any potential criminal activity on record, authorities denied her visa, so she was unable to play at and attend the Grammy Awards that year. Instead, Winehouse had to perform live over satellite transmission. It turned out that her arrest for illegal substance possession in Norway led to this first ban.
Her second suspension resulted from additional illicit substance-related offenses and assault. Winehouse was scheduled to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this time but was once again turned down for a visa.
