Veteran journalist Mike Amor knows the dangers of his job more than anyone else. After all, he had covered the 9/11 attacks and had been a war correspondent in Libya and Gaza. So, he must have felt safe on an assignment to a Venice Beach skate park.

Amor had barely started speaking when a skater in the background lost control of his skateboard. And in a split second, the board was in the air. For a skate park covering 16,000 square feet, it’s a wonder how the wooden board hit Amor in the back of the head. Luckily, he wasn’t hurt badly and quickly continued.
